How do I find a PCP, Dentist, or Other Provider?

Back to the Welcome Packet

PCP is your Primary Care Provider (PCP) — a doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant who helps take care of your health. This is the main person to go to when you’re sick or need a check-up.

Your PCP can:

  • Help keep you healthy with check-ups and shots
  • Treat you when you are sick
  • Send you to a specialist if you need one

How to find a PCP in Arkansas Medicaid:

1. Use the Arkansas Medicaid Provider Search Tool

  • Go to the Arkansas Medicaid Provider Directory:
     ➡ Arkansas Medicaid Provider Search
  • Enter your location and select "Primary Care Provider" as the provider type.
  • Filter by specialty, location, or other preferences.
  • If you have an ARHOME plan, visit your insurance carrier’s website to find providers in its network:
    ➡ BCBS
    Ambetter

2. Call ConnectCare for Assistance

  • ConnectCare Hotline: 1-800-275-1131
  • ConnectCare helps Medicaid and ARKids First beneficiaries find a PCP and dental providers.

3. Check with Your PASSE

  • If you are part of a PASSE (for certain Medicaid beneficiaries), contact your care coordinator for an approved PCP list. Learn more.

4. Contact Your Local DHS Office

  • Visit your nearest Department of Human Services (DHS) office for in-person assistance.
  • Find your local DHS office: ➡ DHS Office Locator

5. Ask Your Current Doctor

  • If you already have a preferred doctor, ask if they accept Arkansas Medicaid as a PCP, or look them up in the provider search tool.
