A PCP is your Primary Care Provider (PCP) — a doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant who helps take care of your health. This is the main person to go to when you’re sick or need a check-up.
Your PCP can:
- Help keep you healthy with check-ups and shots
- Treat you when you are sick
- Send you to a specialist if you need one
