The Arkansas State Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup (AR-SEOW) recently posted new resources on the PreventionWorks website. Informational tools created through AR-SEOW highlight substance use data. All tools are available for download from the website, or you can request free printed versions through the website or by contacting us.

Alcohol Awareness Month

This April is the 31st annual Alcohol Awareness month. Sponsored by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (NCADD), this observance aims to “increase public awareness and understanding, reduce stigma and encourage local communities to focus on alcoholism and alcohol-related issues.”  The theme for 2017 is Connect the Dots: Opportunities for Recovery.  For more information visit the NCADD website.

2017 Arkansas Prevention Summit: Power of Community Partnerships

The 2017 Arkansas Prevention Summit is a multidisciplinary learning and networking opportunity for prevention and other behavioral health professionals & stakeholders. On May 3rd, a Pre-Conference will be held and will feature a full 6-hour prevention ethics training led by Mitchell Moore. Others topics for the Pre-Conference are “Preventing and Intervening with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders” and “Marijuana: Meet Tobacco 2.0.” The Pre-Conference will also feature a viewing of the documentary “Chasing the Dragon” followed by a discussion led by Matthew R.
