Daniel J. Riley of Little Rock has joined AFMC as chief financial officer (CFO). Riley will be responsible for AFMC’s financial planning, budgeting, accounting, reporting and other financial initiatives. As CFO, he will work with AFMC’s executive management in establishing goals, objectives and policies that support the mission and values established by AFMC’s Board of Directors.
“We are pleased to have been able to recruit a veteran, respected CFO from the state’s largest medical center,” said Ray Hanley, AFMC’s president and chief executive officer. “Dan will bring us leadership and financial expertise as we continue working to improve health care in Arkansas.”
Riley has an extensive background in health care financial management, most recently serving as CFO for the UAMS Medical Center from 2000 to 2018. Prior to moving to Little Rock in 2000, Riley was vice president and CFO at the Tulane University Hospital in New Orleans.
He began his professional career in 1981 as a certified public accountant at the international accounting and consulting firm of Deloitte & Touche where he worked with clients in health care, real estate, construction, financial institutions, energy and universities. He later served as CFO of a management services organization at Hermann Hospital, which managed a network of more than 120 physicians at 35 sites throughout the greater Houston area.
He is a cum laude graduate of the University of New Orleans where he earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting.
