AFMC recently welcomed Melissa Masingill as its chief business development and government relations officer. She is responsible for developing and strengthening the organization’s strategic alliances to support and expand its products and services. Her role includes working with public and private sector organizations, federal and state legislators, regulatory agencies and AFMC customers. She helps align AFMC’s development objectives with those of the organization’s overall mission and goals.
“Melissa brings great relationships with our customers, stakeholders and at the Capitol, and I think she will really help us advance the AFMC mission of improving health care in Arkansas,” Ray Hanley, AFMC’s president and chief executive officer, said.
Hanley says it is important that AFMC’s private sector business development also advance its mission of improving health care for all Arkansans. “I’m convinced Melissa is the person to help us lead that effort,” he said. Masingill will report directly to Hanley and work with other divisions within AFMC.
Prior to joining AFMC, Masingill served as the vice president of public affairs at Delta Dental of Arkansas from 2009-2015, directing the organization’s marketing, communications, government relations and brand management. In addition, she oversaw the organization’s philanthropic activity and the Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation.
Masingill served as AFMC’s assistant vice president of communications and governmental affairs from 2007 – 2009. She has also worked as the director of communications and public affairs under two Arkansas Secretaries of State.
