Adult mental health first aid training helps individuals provide initial support to adults experiencing mental health challenges or crises until professional help is available. This will involve online pre-work, followed by a six-hour, in-person class. A virtual option is also available.

This course will teach you how to apply the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE): 

  • Assess for risk of suicide or harm.
  • Listen non-judgmentally.
  • Give reassurance and information.
  • Encourage appropriate professional help.
  • Encourage self-help and other support strategies.
