Nursing Home Professionals
Nursing homes nationwide face more challenges than ever, and they serve a highly vulnerable and clinically complicated population. AFMC is committed to helping Arkansas nursing homes provide the best
care possible for their residents — our parents, grandparents, teachers, veterans and role models. The focus is not only on clinical care but on tailoring the environment to meet social, emotional and psychological needs as well.
We offer quality improvement, continuing education, intervention tools and related programs for nursing home staff and administrators at all levels. Our goal is to help them fulfill:
- The needs of a growing elderly population.
- The changing expectations of residents, their families, payors and the general public.
- The challenges of retaining a highly qualified and dedicated workforce.
Quality Improvement
National Patient Safety Initiative (NPSI) - As part of the National Patient Safety Initiative (NPSI), AFMC engages hospitals, nursing homes and stakeholder organizations to address patient harm for which there is evidence of how to improve safety by improving health care processes and systems.
Arkansas Innovative Performance Program
The Arkansas Innovative Performance Program (AIPP) is dedicated to helping Medicaid-certified nursing homes provide the best care possible for each resident in their care. We offer guidance and support to facilities that seek positive changes and want to make the best use of survey findings.
